ORIGAMI partnered with Saten Japanese Tea, a Japanese tea stand, in their endeavor to design an original matcha bowl. It is versatile and a perfect size for 1–2 servings of matcha (usucha, “thin tea”) as well as making matcha latte and koicha (“thick tea”.)

The rounded bottom supports smooth matcha-making moves such as whisking and kneading, helping users to make a silky fine foam. The narrowed mouth makes the bowl easier to handle and pour, while gently guiding whisked liquid to flow back down for less spilling and easier whisking.

The bowl comes in a variety of colors finished with beautiful glazes: white and black compliment the color of matcha, a mellow green, and a calming reddish brown. An innovative new material called "Re-stone" was selected for this product for its incredible durability, making the bowl strong enough for professional use.

Cutting-edge material combined with a matte glaze created a unique product in which traditional and modern feels co-exist in harmony.
